WARDROBE WEDNESDAY--coordinating with BLUES!

Another FABULOUS wardrobe coordination...this time compiled by the ultra talented Erica May! She said the following:

This week I went with a Blue theme since it is my favorite color and it looks great against many different backgrounds. This could be used as an idea for a couples session, a family session, or a sibling session. The shoes can easily be changed out if you already have ones that work too. For dad I added a hat but it could also be used for the little boy if dad is not a fan of hats =). When thinking about coordinating outfits I always start with one color (for this instance it was blue) and go from there. Hope you enjoy it!

Four and One {Fort Myers Children's Photographer}

When did I become a mom to a one and four year old? Did anybody else see that time FLY by?!?! I made a promise to myself to TAKE more and SHARE more pics of my own kiddos. They are the reason I got into photography in the first place. My daughter is my original inspiration and she has grown to HATE the camera, unfortunately. Oh well, a little bribe here and there never hurt anybody. ;)

Emma is our little firecracker. She is full of personality and energy and she is a girl who KNOWS what she wants. Don't mess with her when she's got an idea in mind...you'll lose. She is so very smart and we learn from her every day. And the best part? She loves to snuggle and hug and kiss...and she makes us laugh. I could go on and on!

August is our sweet bundle of cuddles and kisses. I could just eat him up on a daily basis. I kiss and hug him all day long...almost literally! He is a kind and sweet soul. Complete strangers are just drawn to him. Oh how he makes my heart happy!






Emma was being a GREAT big sister...she asked August if he wanted some watermelon...

of course he said yes...

OUCH! He big my finnnnngerrrrrr!!!

OWWWWWWWW!

but it really hurts...and I'm SOOO dramatic!

i'll just sulk here in my watermelon...

Wardrobe Wednesday--Bright and Colorful!

Normally I suggest to my clients that for family photo sessions, the wardrobe should revolve around the kiddos. I usually pick out one outfit (normally the little girl's) that brings together everyone else’s attire. This week is a little different though because I decided to pick a wardrobe for a maternity shoot. Of course, this revolves around the mom, so everything I picked out was made to go with the her outfit. The great thing about this plaid shirt is that there are so many colors to choose from for the kiddos and the dad to match, and just like last week’s suggestion, you still have a great wardrobe even if you only have the dad (or boy or girl) and mom in the picture.

The moral of the story? COLOR! Color is good for your photos. It brings life to your images and gives them personality! I am in no way putting down white...or black. They have their place in portraits and sometimes, they are absolutely welcome. But try to BREAK AWAY from the matching white, khaki and black look and try some color! You might like it!

Daughter {Fort Myers Newborn Photgrapher}

Oh baby! Despite the fact that this little pumpkin was almost 4 weeks old, she was SO tiny! She was just beautiful and so sweet. Big sister is SUPER proud and a natural. :)

Since she was an "older" newborn at the time of the shoot, she was SO aware! Look at those eyes!





All of this hard work was making baby Emilee hungry, so I took big sister Ella aside for some individual shots! She read her books to me. :)

Random Wednesday becomes Wardrobe Wednesday!

I am very excited to announce that the day formally known as "Random Wednesday" is now officially "Wardrobe Wednesday"! Why change it, you ask? I can be random anytime...right? Just kidding. :) The real reason is because, hands down, the most frequently asked question I get from clients is "what should we wear?". Well...you asked for it!
